Cheryl is a trained mentor and a member of The Living with Purpose Collective.  She is the founder and lead facilitator of Bridges Academy in Huntersville, N.C.  Currently, when Cheryl is not teaching, she consults and supports parents who are facing these struggles:

​A letter from Cheryl:

 

For nearly three decades, I've been guiding young learners from diverse backgrounds, both here in the US and across the globe. My years working closely with children sparked a deep desire to envision a more nurturing and responsive way for them to experience school. This heartfelt journey led to the creation of Bridges Academy in 2024, a small and supportive learning community for middle years students. Through my learning journey, I've understood the profound importance of our inner wellspring – that gentle strength within each of us that allows us to joyfully be ourselves and naturally connect and share with others in community. I truly believe every child arrives at school with beautiful, unique gifts waiting to be discovered. Young people need a caring learning community that helps them see these gifts clearly, so they can use their natural strengths to contribute and build a solid foundation for continued growth. From this gentle yet powerful base, all other meaningful learning unfolds, allowing us to celebrate the beauty and potential within each child truly.
